The Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control in the California Department of Public Health has developed free online continuing medical education (CME) courses on a variety of occupational and environmental medicine topics. Credits are provided through the University of California, Davis Health System. Medical care providers (physicians, nurses, and physician assistants) and Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) can earn continuing education units for completion of any of the following one-hour courses.

• Coccidioidomycosis: Update on Occupational Health Issues
  Provides information on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of coccidioidomycosis; highlights workers at risk for occupational coccidioidomycosis and describes measures to prevent its occurrence.
• Lead: Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
  Provides information about sources and risk factors for childhood lead exposures, implementation of California childhood lead screening regulations, and designing appropriate environmental interventions.
• Lead: Adult Occupational Lead Poisoning in California for Occupational Medicine Providers
  Provides information on the epidemiology, toxicology, and sources of lead; health effects in and clinical management of lead exposed adults; and the state public health role in preventing occupational lead poisoning. Also provides information on efforts to update the Cal/OSHA lead standards based on recent data regarding the toxicity of lead, particularly at low levels, and physician responsibilities and legal context under the evolving lead standards.  
• Lead: Overview of Adult Occupational Lead Poisoning in California
  Provides information for general practitioners on the epidemiology, toxicology, and sources of exposure of lead; the health effects in and clinical management of lead exposed adults; the Cal/OSHA occupational lead standards; and the state public health role in the prevention of occupational lead poisoning in California.
