Frozen Food Lockers are food storage units held at a temperature less
than 5ĀŗF, and where the individual units do not exceed 25 cubic feet of space.
The locker space is leased to private parties for the storage of food items for
their own personal use. This license does not apply to a business
that commercially warehouses food products for themselves or on behalf of
others.
Frozen Food locker facilities must obtain a Frozen Food Locker Plant
License from the Department, which will be valid for two years. To
apply for a license, the Frozen Food Locker Plant
License Application with applicable fees must be
submitted for all facilities that meet the above criteria.
A frozen food storage facility that is a sub-let to other businesses
and also uses the facility for storage and distribution of its own products
would need to obtain a Processed Food
Registration for their business. Businesses that
fall under this category must also complete a PFR application and submit it to
the Department with appropriate fees.
