× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

Human Stem Cell Research Reporting Forms

California Health and Safety Code Section 125119.3 mandates that Stem cell Research Oversight (SCRO) Committees reviewing human embryonic stem cell research that is not fully funded by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) annually report to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on the number of human embryonic stem cell research projects reviewed ant the status and disposition of these research projects. Health and Safety Code Section 125342 also requires written record be established for each research subject donating oocytes for medical research purposes and that this information be reported to CDPH. The reporting forms HSCR 1260-1 and HSCR 1260-2 below can be downloaded and completed forms should be emailed to stemcell@cdph.ca.gov by the review committee overseeing the research. Forms for the reporting period July 1- June 30 are due August 1.

On a biennial basis, CDPH will compile the information supplied in the reports submitted by the SCRO Committees reviewing human embryonic stem cell research, and develop a Legislative Review on human embryonic stem cell research activity in California as required by Health and Safety Code Section 125119. (b).
