ā€‹All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

The California Department of Public Health, Center for Health Care Quality, Licensing and Certification (L&C) Program is seeking public comment related to the development of criminal record clearance regulations for certified nurse assistants and home health aides.

ā€‹Pursuant to Government Code section 11346, L&C is inviting interested parties to submit statements and comments regarding the substance of regulations governing criminal record clearances for certified nurse assistants described in Health and Safety Code (HSC) sections 1337.9 and 1338.5 and criminal record clearances for home health aides described in HSC sections 1736.5 and 1736.6 prior to the start of the formal rulemaking process.

The regulations will implement procedures for processing criminal record clearances for certified nurse assistants and home health aides.

Any interested person or his or her authorized representative may submit written comments relevant to these issues to L&C by mail, or e-mail to the address listed under Contact Persons in this notice. L&C must receive written comments at its office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017.
