× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

Name Change for the Center for Health Care Quality, Licensing and Certification (L&C), Centralized Applications Unit (CAU)



​All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

This AFL notifies health care facilities that the L&C, CAU name and associated email address has changed.

​In an effort to improve efficiency, performance, and services to our providers, the Center for Health Care Quality, L&C is pleased to announce that CAU has expanded and reorganized to the new Centralized Applications Branch (CAB) effective August 14, 2018. The new branch consists of four sections:

  • Non-Long Term Care Section
  • Long-Term Care Section
  • Report of Change Section, and
  • Licensing-Certification and Policy Section

The reorganization and expansion provides additional resources and realigns CAB’s sections to better meet provider needs.

The CAB mailing address and mail stop code will remain the same; however, the email address has changed to CAB@cdph.ca.gov. For inquires related to licensure forms, application status, and facility renewals contact the CAB, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (916) 552-8632 or by email.
