× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

SUBJECT:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Push Pack Distribution

All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

This AFL informs SNFs that the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) will be distributing PPE push packs to SNFs beginning May 3, 2021.

PPE push pack distribution is part of California's continued effort to provide necessary supplies, prevent the spread of COVID-19, and help ensure the health and safety of SNF residents and staff. Cal OES recently notified the California Department of Public Health's Medical and Health Coordination Center (MHCC) that a new round of PPE push packs will be shipped to SNFs for use and distribution.

Distribution of the PPE push packs will begin May 3, 2021. The quantities for each PPE push pack item will be based on the facility's total number of beds and will include the following:

  • Build Your Dreams (BYD) procedure/surgical masks
  • BYD N95 masks
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Goggles
  • Gowns
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Disinfecting wipes

If facilities experience any issues with the shipment of PPE push packs, please email Cal OES at socmhccops@soc.caloes.ca.gov.

Sincerely,
