× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

SUBJECT:
Change to Distribution of Health Care Facility Certification Correspondence

All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

This AFL notifies all facilities that effective August 16, 2021, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Centralized Applications Branch (CAB), will change the way it distributes certification correspondence to health care facilities.

To increase efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint, CAB is implementing a paperless process for distributing health care facility certification correspondence.

Beginning August 16, 2021, CAB will be replacing CDPH's current practice of mailing hard copy certification correspondence and will begin distributing correspondence to health care facilities as a Portable Document Format (PDF). Certification correspondence will be sent via email to the facility administrator using the facility's general contact email address reported to CDPH. If there is no general contact email on file, correspondence will be emailed to the licensee's email address as reported to CDPH.

To update either the general contact email address or licensee email address in our system of record, the administrator or licensee may email CAB@cdph.ca.gov and provide the following information:

  • Facility Name
  • Facility ID (if known)
  • License # (if known)
  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Certification Number (CCN) (if known)
  • Facility Address
  • Name, Title
  • Email Address

If you have any questions about this AFL, please contact CAB by phone at (916) 552-8632 or by email at CAB@cdph.ca.gov.

Sincerely,
