× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. Supplement to Limited Stay At Home Order 12/22/20

This state health officer order is no longer in effect and is for historical purposes only.


On January 25, 2021, the Limited Stay at Home Order ended as a result of all regions exiting from a regional stay at home order.

Note: This Supplemental Order accompanies the Limited Stay at Home Order.


  I, as Acting State Public Health Officer of the State of California, order as follows:

  1.   The Limited Stay At Home Order is extended and shall expire only after the Regional Stay At Home Order has terminated in all Regions in the State of California.

  2. In addition to applying to the counties in Tier One (Purple) of California's Blueprint for a Safer Economy, the Limited Stay At Home Order shall now also apply in counties subject to the Regional Stay At Home Order, as follows: non-essential retail must cease between 10:00pm PST and 5:00am PST.

  3. For counties that trigger this Supplemental Order because they are in a Region subject to the restrictions in the Regional Stay At Home Order, the terms of this Order shall apply at 10:00pm PST on either: (1) day two after this Order is signed, or (2) the same day the terms of the Regional Stay At Home Order take effect in the county.

  4. All other terms in the Limited Stay At Home Order shall remain in effect as stated in that Order.

  5.  If the Local Health Officer determines measures that are more restrictive than the State's Limited Stay At Home Order are necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or the occurrence of additional cases in his or her jurisdiction, the Local Health Officer retains the authority to implement such measures.

  6. This order is issued pursuant to Health and Safety Code sections 120125, 120130(c), 120135, 120140, 120145, 120175,120195 and 131080; EO N-60-20, N-25-20, and other authority provided for under the Emergency Services Act; and other applicable law.
