UC Law San Francisco students

If you’re a UC Law San Francisco student seeking medication abortion services, follow these steps.

Step 1: Have your insurance plan number ready

This could be UCSHIP or another insurance plan. You are still entitled to these services even if you have waived out of UCSHIP.

It's helpful to know the date of your last period and the date of the period you recently missed. It’s OK if you don’t know these.

Step 2: Call a Carbon Health clinic near you

All locations have hours of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Step 3: Follow the script

Hello, I am student at UC Law San Francisco and I am/might be pregnant and do not want to be. I would like to schedule an appointment to see if I can get a medication abortion. What appointments do you have available? Also, I want to confirm that the cost for this service will be $0 because of UC Law’s coverage agreement with Carbon Health, correct?

Step 4: Schedule your appointment.

Choose a time that works for you.

Step 5: Show up to your scheduled appointment

You can bring a supportive friend or family member. Take the prescribed medication abortion pills as instructed. Follow any after-care instructions.
