× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

New COVID-19 Educational Media for Workers

We're excited to introduce our worker-focused digital media tools that raise awareness about COVID-19 workplace safety, employer responsibilities, and worker rights. The materials include a video, social media graphics and animated cards, an interactive digital story, an educational comic, posters, and web banners.

Please help us reach California workers with these tools! We encourage you to share them widely with your networks on social media, your website, and beyond. Worker in mask: Text: you want to return home from work as healthy as you arrived.

These engaging tools include messages that explain workers' rights as found in the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards and that promote the COVID-19 vaccines. They feature workers from industries and occupations where there have been high numbers of COVID-19 cases, outbreaks, or fatalities, including construction, restaurants and groceries, food processing, and transportation.

Our process to create the tools included:

  • Interviewing union reps and advocates to determine messaging needs

  • Consulting with subject matter experts and going through an extensive review process

  • Collaborating with Labor and Workforce Development Agency

  • Soliciting and incorporating feedback from workers and union reps on draft tools

  • Working with a branding and animation studio to complete final products

We hope that you and the workers you engage find these tools helpful. Thank you in advance for helping us to share them with California workers.
