This Center works to prevent and control chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, and diabetes; to reduce the prevalence of obesity; to reduce tobacco use; to reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes; to provide training programs for the public health workforce; to prevent and control injuries, violence, deaths, and diseases related to behavioral, environmental, and occupational factors; to promote and support safe and healthy environments in communities and workplaces; and to prevent and treat problem gambling.  This Center includes the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Control, the Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control, and the Office of Problem Gambling.
