× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. Two common hazards faced by painters and other construction workers are lead poisoning and falls from ladders. The Occupational Lead Poisoning Prevention Program's innovative bilingual DVD can be used by painting and construction companies in tailgate trainings to run safer jobsites.

The video combines factual information with humor to convey educational content in a story format. It shows actions employers and workers should take to prevent ladder falls and lead poisoning on the job as well as steps they can take to protect families from lead that can be brought home from the worksite. Key educational and motivational messages are coveyed in both English and Spanish without the use of subtitles. (English/Spanish, 17 minutes)
