The California Association of Communicable Disease Controllers (CACDC) is comprised of the designated Communicable Disease (CD) Control Officer (CDCO) for each of the 61 local health jurisdictions in California as well as over 200 additional associate members. CACDC supports the core public health functions of surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable diseases ā services vital to the protection of the public, policy development, and evaluation of public health delivery systems.
Since its formation in 2002 as an affiliate of the California Conference of Local Health Officers (CCLHO), CACDC has continued to grow and has become a well-recognized forum for the Communicable Disease Controllers, their staff, and other associate members that lead and conduct CD control programs throughout California. Total membership currently exceeds 300.
Our purpose is to support the establishment of recommended goals, standards, and priorities for the control of communicable diseases, make CD policy recommendations to CCLHO, and promote dissemination of knowledge concerning communicable diseases including causes, prevention, treatment, control, and reporting.
