California COVID-19 Vaccination Program

Only authorized vaccinators may administer vaccines in California. Providers must ensure staff are properly trained and follow federal and state requirements, and manufacturers’ guidance for administering COVID-19 vaccine. Components of vaccine administration can include:

  • Vaccine preparation
  • Clinical considerations
  • Patient education (EUA fact sheets)
  • Vaccination record
  • Second-dose reminders
  • Reporting and record keeping
  • Vaccine Adverse Event reporting
