Office of Child Abuse Prevention ā€“ The OCAP serves as a statewide source of information, developing and disseminating educational material regarding child abuse and neglect prevention/early intervention programs, activities, and research.

Family Engagement and Empowerment Division  

  • CalFresh- CalFresh, known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP, provides monthly food benefits to individuals and families with low-income and provides economic benefits to communities.
  • CalWORKs Child Care- This program helps CalWORKs eligible families access immediate, short-term child care as the parent works or performs their welfare-to-work activity.

Children and Family Services Division (CFSD)

  • Office of Tribal Affairs- Has the primary responsibility of building better government-to-government relationships with the CDSS and California Indian Tribes (Tribes), Counties and Tribal Governments, as well as working with Native American stakeholders.
