× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. Processing Times

The California Department of Public Health – Vital Records (CDPH-VR) estimated processing times for certified copies or amendment of vital records are listed below, which may occasionally increase as the volume of requests increases. The processing time begins when CDPH-VR receives your request. 

County offices can sometimes process certified copy requests faster than CDPH-VR.

Requests for Certified Copies

CDPH-VR's average time to process a certified copy request is 6 to 8 weeks.

Requests for Amendments

CDPH-VR’s average time to process an amendment request is 10 to 12 weeks EXCEPT for Court Report of Adoptions.

Court Report of Adoptions currently has an average processing time of 16 to 18 weeks.
