International Rescue Committee
IRC provides opportunities for refugees to thrive in
America. Each year, thousands of refugees are invited by the U.S. government to
seek safety and freedom. Forced to flee conflict or persecution, many have
survived for years against incredible odds. They step off the plane with next to
nothing but their dignity, hope and determination. In Northern California and
many other regional offices across the country.
Catholic Charities
The Catholic Church is the largest provider of social
services throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, and Catholic Charities is
the visible face of the diocese in that work. Founded in 1935, we are devoted to
providing social services and advocacy to the working poor and underserved in
Alameda and Contra Costa County.

211 is an easy to remember, toll-free phone number that
connect callers with local community services, such as food, shelter,
counseling, employment assistance, quality child care and more.
Food Bank
Started in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food
items. We distribute food directly to low-income people at community sites and
make food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and
children. The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise
public awareness of issues related to food and hunger.
Head Start Program
Contra Costa serves over 2,000 children and their
families in our Head Start, Early Head Start and Child Development
programs.
County Housing Authority
The Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa
provides rental subsidies and manages and develops affordable housing for low
income families, seniors and persons with disabilities in Contra Costa
County.
CALfresh Food Assistance
The CalFresh Program helps to improve the health and
well-being of qualified households and individuals by providing them a means to
meet their nutritional needs.

Cross
The American Red Cross of the Bay Area is part of the
Northern California Coastal Region serving more than 7 million people and is
comprised of the following chapters: California Northwest, Bay Area, Silicon
Valley, and the Central Coast.
