BACS programs are always here to help. Our services span from the first sign of crisis, during treatment, and beyond wellness. We help teens experiencing their first signs of mental health issues, adults who want to live or work independently.

The Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) of 2004 spurred BHCS to work toward creating a more integrated, culturally competent, consumer and family-empowered system of care that emphasizes community-wide participation, prevention, wellness, recovery and resiliency. When we launched our planning process for MHSA, we reached out to stakeholders throughout the community to help shape the future of behavioral health services in Alameda County.

Alameda County Community Food Bank has been in business since 1985 ... with a vision toward a day when we can go out of business. We are the hub of a vast collection and distribution network that provides food for 240 nonprofit agencies in Alameda County. In 2014, the Food Bank distributed 25 million meals -- more than half of the food was fresh fruits and vegetables. Our goal is to ensure every food insecure child, adult and senior in Alameda County knows where their next meal is coming from.

The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) operates a number of housing programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that provide low-cost rental housing or rental assistance for low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and others, in much of Alameda County.
