The Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee
The Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee (OHE AC) is integral in advancing the goals of the office and advises in the development and implementation of the OHE Strategic Plan. The OHE AC is comprised of representatives from applicable state agencies and departments, local health departments, community-based organizations, and service providers working to advance health and mental health equity for vulnerable communities. The OHE AC consists of a broad range of experts, advocates, clinicians, and consumers who understand the important issues of health and mental health disparities related to unserved and underrepresented communities. Members meet on a quarterly basis.
The OHE AC gives feedback to the workplans and priority areas of OHE programs and consults regularly with OHE for input and updates on policy recommendations, strategic plans, emerging issues, and areas of growth. Additionally, the OHE AC works with the Health in All Policies (HiAP) Task Force and stakeholders to provide a forum to identify and address the complexities of health and mental health inequities and to identify interrelated and multisector strategies. The OHE AC continues to explore possibilities of advising on equity issues with the California Department of Public Health and other state departments.

The Office of Health Equity is actively recruiting for new advisory committee members! If you are interested in giving a voice to vulnerable communities, advocating for health and mental health equity, or addressing the social determinants of health, then the Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee is a great opportunity to share your passion, expertise, and lived experience.
The Office of Health Equity has opened the application period on December 6, 2022, and will end the application process on
January 6, 2023, to fill seats that are vacant.
