California SNAP-Ed State Plan

This webpage houses the most current operating California Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) State Plan. The California SNAP-Ed State Plan is developed in collaboration with the California Department of Social Services and partnering state and local implementing agencies and is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). Past state plans are available by request through email CASNAPEdPlan@cdph.ca.gov.

The mission of California SNAP-Ed is to inspire and empower underserved Californians by promoting awareness, education, and community change through diverse partnerships to result in healthy eating and active living. The need for such programs and services in California is great. There are approximately 12.6 million people eligible for SNAP-Ed (34% of Californiaā€™s population).
