× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

SHOP Healthy Here

SHOP Healthy Here (SHH)- Healthy Retail Recognition Program facilitates partnerships between qualifying small neighborhood grocery stores and local health departments (LHDs) to increase the purchase and consumption of healthy foods and beverages among CalFresh-eligible Californians.

By providing retailers with a variety of tools, resources, and outreach activities, SHH builds the capacity of retailers to inspire healthy changes among consumers.

SHOP Healthy Here Program Toolkit

The SHOP Healthy Here - Healthy Retail Recognition Program Toolkit provides a framework and resources for working with retail storeowners to progressively increase the availability of, and access to, healthy foods and beverages. The resources in this toolkit can be tailored and adjusted to the readiness of retailer change.

The Program Guide outlines steps and resources to:

         • Identify and recruit retailers;

         • Survey retailers to measure product availability;

         • Promote healthy foods; and

         • Provide technical assistance.
