Infant Formula Availability

Updated December 13, 2022

Similac Advance, Sensitive, and Total Comfort have become more readily available in the marketplace. However, the impact of the ongoing pandemic and the recent 2022 Abbott recall of certain powdered formulas has led to periodic infant formula shortages for all consumers, including WIC families. More information for WIC families on infant formula availability can be found at the California WIC Infant Formula Availability webpage.

COVID-19 Information for WIC Families

Updated September 22, 2022

Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna bivalent booster shots are now available.

The updated Pfizer Bio-BioNTech bivalent booster and the Moderna bivalent booster shots have been granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the CDC and the FDA. The Pfizer booster is now available for everyone 12 years and older and the Moderna booster is available for those 18 years and older.

This new booster will increase immunity against the original COVID-19 strain. It also protects against new Omicron variants.

Get a booster shot as soon as you're eligible. If you're 12 and older, and have had your primary series, you should get the updated booster at least 2 months after any COVID vaccine or booster dose.

Your booster shot can also be a different vaccine brand than what you got in your original series.

To book your booster shot or find a walk-in clinic, visit My Turn.

See why the CDC urges you to stay up to date with your vaccines.
