āThe California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued All Facility Letter (AFL) 10-33 on December 16, 2010. That AFL provided guidelines for facility requirements during state audits for compliance with the 3.2 Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHPPD) staffing requirements.
CDPH is revising the guidelines contained within AFL10-33; therefore the requirements of the AFL are on hold. This AFL, 11-16, rescinds the previously issued AFL 10-33.
As of the date of this letter, and until further notice, facilities are not required to comply with the guidelines contained in AFL 10-33. A separate AFL with guidelines for facility requirements for compliance with the 3.2 NHPPD staffing requirements will be released next week.
