× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

Electronic Plan of Correction (ePOC)

Welcome to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) information page for the implementation of the electronic plan of correction (ePOC). The name for the ePOC program announced by our federal partners is “ASPEN-WEB: ePOC.” ASPEN is the name of the suite of software programs used by all states to manage licensing and certification functions.

What is ePOC?

A plan of correction (POC) is a document submitted by licensed health care facilities to respond to deficiencies identified in a survey of the facility conducted by state field staff. The information that follows provides guidance on how to begin participating in the ePOC program. The ePOC program is designed to allow providers, CDPH and the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) to view documents issued by state regulators and documents the facilities provide in response. The documents involved in the ePOC program include the statement of deficiencies (CMS 2567) issued by state staff and the relevant documents submitted in response by facilities. Facility enrollment is recommended. Currently the ePOC program is only available for Nursing Facilities (NF) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF).
