Give Blood, Save a Life
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs donated blood. Donated blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. The need for donated blood is constant since blood cannot be manufactured outside the body and can only be stored for a limited time before use.
While 38% of the American population is eligible to give blood, only a small percentage donates. Donating one unit of blood may save the lives of up to three people. Donating blood helps save lives and can boost a donorās sense of well-being. Consider donating blood if you are eligible.
Individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine are still eligible to donate blood. Donors who have recovered from COVID-19 and are symptom-free may also be eligible to donate after a specified period. Contact your local blood donation center for details related to COVID-19 and blood donation.
