Mpox spreads through close, physical contact, which can include sexual activity. You can reduce your chance of getting and spreading mpox by talking openly with your partner(s) about symptoms before sexual contact. If you or your partner(s) have a new or unexplained rash or sores, take a break from sexual and close contact with others and reach out to a health care provider immediately. Vaccination can help prevent mpox. Ask a health care provider if the mpox vaccine is right for you.
