Dear Training Program Directors and Administrators,
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Laboratory Field Services (LFS) appreciates the proactive measures that clinical laboratory scientist training programs are taking to ensure the safety of their students and staff during the COVID-19 emergency. To mitigate the interruption of the training duration of clinical laboratory scientist trainees, LFS is extending the licensure duration of existing trainee license for six months. This extension is valid for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency and subject to the following conditions:
The trainee license expires between March 31, 2020 and December 31, 2020
The trainee must request for an extension
The trainee must provide training rotation schedule
This extension is effective immediately and may be amended from time to time at the discretion of LFS. Please advise your trainees who meet the above conditions to submit their request to
LFSrenewals@cdph.ca.gov. If you have any questions about personnel or laboratory testing related to COVID-19, please contact LFS at
LFSCOVID@cdph.ca.gov.
We appreciate your partnership in protecting the health of California citizens.
Sincerely,
