California Breathing is housed in the California Department of Public Health's Environmental Health Investigations Branch. Consistent with the priorities of the Branch, California Breathing focuses on disease surveillance and developing interventions that improve environmental conditions that cause or exacerbate asthma in the most vulnerable populations.

California Asthma Control Strategies Webinar Series ā During the Fall of 2021, California Breathing hosted a three-part webinar series about asthma control strategies in California. The first webinar described the burden of asthma in California. The second webinar shared evaluation results of the first four years of the Asthma Management Academy, an asthma education program for community health workers. The third webinar shared assessment results of asthma control strategies from California clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
