Federal Funding: Title V and Title XIX funds support Local Health Jurisdictions (LHJs) to provide the leadership to plan, develop, support and promote comprehensive systems of preventive and primary services for pregnant women, mothers, infants, children, children and youth with special health care needs, adolescents and their families.
Federal Title V funds are allocated to the LHJs to implement MCAH programs that meet state and federal requirements and that address locally identified needs. Local MCAH Programs also access Title XIX federal funds to support access to care for Medi-Cal recipients. Local MCAH programs are funded in 61 LHJs that include all 58 California counties and three city health departments: Berkeley, Long Beach and Pasadena.
