× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

AFL 20-81
October 12, 2020

TO:
General Acute Care Hospitals (GACHs)

SUBJECT:
GACH Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination Survey

All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

This AFL requests all hospitals complete a survey to assist with COVID-19 vaccination planning. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requesting that all hospitals complete the survey by October 16, 2020.

Pandemic vaccination planning is a combined state and local responsibility that requires close collaboration between public health, external agencies, and community partners. CDPH is requesting that all hospitals complete an online survey on COVID-19 vaccination response planning. Hospital responses to these questions will greatly assist CDPH in collecting information about the potential demand for vaccinations based on staffing, patient population, and community conditions. This information will allow CDPH to better plan, communicate, and coordinate responses.

Hospital leadership (or a health system on behalf of its hospital) should complete the California COVID-19 Vaccine Hospital System Needs Assessment and Capacity Survey (surveymonkey.com/r/NWFP2P7). Please submit this information no later than 5:00 PM Pacific time on October 16, 2020.

If you have any questions about this AFL, please contact the CDPH Duty Officer at CHCQDutyOfficer@cdph.ca.gov.

Sincerely,
