The Medication Assistance Program assists eligible individuals in paying for the cost of prescription drugs on the Medication Assistance Program formulary and pays insurance premiums for those who are eligible.
It is an important time to evaluate what health coverage you may be eligible for, and take action to make sure you provide any required documentation in order to enroll or re-enroll into a Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) Program. Below, you will find descriptions of various scenarios that may apply to you, as well as additional information on how the Medication Assistance Program can assist in paying for your health coverage. Uninsured - You currently do not have health insurance. Click the links below to learn how the Medication Assistance Program may be able to assist in paying for health insurance premiums if you enroll into a health plan. Once enrolled into a health plan, you will be able to see a health care provider within the health planās network.
Insured - You currently have insurance through a Covered California or non-Covered California health plan
Covered California - The Medication Assistance Program can assist with paying your Covered California health plan premium and certain medical out-of-pocket-costs.
Non-Covered California - The Medication Assistance Program can assist with paying your non-Covered California health plan premium and certain medical out-of-pocket-costs.
Medicare Part D - The Medication Assistance Program can assist with paying your Medicare Part D premiums and certain medical out-of-pocket costs. It can also assist with paying for your Medigap plan premium, including any extra or innovative benefits.
Note: the quickest way to enroll into a program is to work with your local Medication Assistance Program Enrollment Worker so they can submit the documents electronically on your behalf. Sending the documents by mail or fax will delay processing.
