× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. Welcome to the California Genetic Counselor Licensure Program website. This is the main page to navigate to the various applications.

 

  • The Initial License Application is a pdf fillable application which can be emailed. However, the original application must be mailed in with other required documents.

  • The Temporary License Application if for Genetic Counselors who are not yet ABGC certified.

  • The Temporary to Full License Application is for Genetic Counselors with a Temporary License but are applying for a Full License after passing the ABGC certification exam.

  • The Renewal Application is for Genetic Counselors with a Full License that need to renew their license every three years documenting CEUs.

  • The instructions for Genetic Counselors applying from out-of-state have different documentation requirements.
