× The federal government has shut down due to the failures of the President and Congress to continue government funding. Millions of Californians receiving benefits from state programs may be impacted. For now, California’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) will continue to provide services and enroll eligible families as long as funding is available. No new federal funding to California WIC will be provided until the President and Congress take action. Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. This information is subject to change, so please monitor the California WIC website for updates.

Please be wary of potential highly partisan political messaging while visiting federal government websites for information related to the federal government shutdown.

TO:
All Facilities

SUBJECT:
California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Centralized Applications Unit (CAU) Internal Operational Relocation

All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary

The purpose of this AFL is to notify providers of a brief interruption of CAU services on Friday, February 26, 2016 and Monday, February 29, 2016 due to an internal relocation. Full business operations will resume Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Phone and postal services will not be affected.

CDPH’s CAU was established to centralize the processing of facility applications for state licensure and federal certification. CAU ensures the standardization of the facility licensure application process and the consistent review of these applications.

To better serve its customers, CAU is increasing its staffing. As a result, CAU is relocating its operations to a new internal space, which will accommodate current and future growth. The CAU will be non-operational on Friday, February 26, 2016 and Monday, February 29, 2016 with full operations resuming Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

During this time, you may leave a voicemail by calling 916-552-8632. Staff will respond to all messages when operations resume.

The CAU website is also available and may be found at:

CAU page under construction

The postal mail delivery address for CAU will remain unchanged.

We thank you in advance for your patience and look forward to providing quality service from our new internal location.

Sincerely,
